The cross seen from the gate.

This cross has been re-erected in the graveyard of St. Mary's Church which is now a private residence in the heart of Thomastown.
A cross head carved out of a block of sandstone, with a solid wheel, the top part missing and no arms, has been mounted on a granite shaft. The head seems to be dating to the 9th or 10th century and might resemble the ones in Graiguenamanagh.
Unfortunately the place is closed to the public and no further investigation was possible on the day of our visit.
The side of the cross visible from the gate faces southeast (150°).
