The wall had some kind of decorative crenellation.

This folly, or decorative building, was part of the now disappeared Rostellan Demesne.
It was built in 1727 by Murrough O’Brien, 5th Earl of Inchiquin, 10th Baron Inchiquin, 1st Marquess of Thomond, a descendant of Murrough McDermod Inchiquin that about one century before was in possess on Dungarvan Castle.
The tower has a circular plan and had been built along the west side of the boundary wall of the Demesne near the coast. On either side of the tower the boundary wall, with its crenellated top, is still visible.
The tower itself had crenellations, and it seems that it had several windows along its circumference, though only two sad segments survive today. The base of the tower was battered.
The tower was later renamed as Siddon's Tower in honour of the Welsh actress Sarah Siddons (5 July 1755 – 8 June 1831), who apparently visited Rostellan House. Sarah Siddon's was a very well known actress in London at those times, especially for her leading roles in several William Shakespeare's plays.
