The modern structure that should be an ancient holy well.

This sad and dried up holy well stands in the car park of an estate at Newtown Terrace in Thomastown.
Its an ugly semicircular modern structure with a low wall on its west side. The west face of this wall bears the name of Lady's Well. Frankly I don't understand where the water should have come out from, the basin looks completely sealed along its perimeter. Probably a holy well stood here in the past, then it ran dry or the modern housing development destroyed the underground stream, and now only the memory of the holy well remains.
However the OS Map still shows a red dot in this place. Really sad!
