The ogham stone next to the southwest corner of the ruinous church near the round tower at Tullaherin.

This nice ogham stone stands near the southwest corner of the ruinous church next to the round tower at Tullaherin.
When we first came here on June 22nd, 2007, it was probably hidden by the scaffolding that was wrapping the round tower and the adjacent ruins. The round tower is only 2 metres west from the ogham stone.
Apparently it has been used as a gatepost until 33 years ago, when it was returned to the monastic site by the Mahon family.
It's 1.60 metres tall, 49 centimetres wide at the base tapering to 27 centimetres of width at the top. It's 27 centimetres thick. On its south (170°) face is still visible the iron hinge of the gate piercing the stone to the opposite side.
Some ogham signs are visible on the southeast (with the letters M C R G) and southwest (with the letters D and T) edges of the stone.
