The huge portal tomb seen from roughly the south.

At last, I could say! We were here on May 9th, 2000, and never came back again, though I'd have liked.
This tomb and the wedge tomb with the same name are at the northeast edge of the golf course at the Ballymascanlon Hotel. From the hotel there are two signposts to the tombs, then we had to walk 10 minutes before seeing something. The path is through the golf course, so particular care must be taken because some golf balls may travel fast above your head.
It's a huge and very well looked after portal tomb with two portal stones which are 2.15 metres tall and a supporting rear stone that has been set into a concrete and stones foot, the only clashing element in all this harmony.
The capstone is massive with a rounded top loaded with small stones thrown up there by the visitors who believe the legend that says that if someone throws and lands a small stone on the top of this portal tomb they'll be married before the year is over.
My wife succeded in this attempt, but she's married already.
The total height of this wonderful tomb is 3.57 metres, and it's 3.52 metres long and 2.40 wide at the top. The entrance faces northwest (330°).
The Proleek wedge tomb is 60 metres southeast from here.
