Looking at the tallest ogham stone in Europe from the west.

This is said to be the tallest ogham stone in all Europe.
As a matter of fact, it's 4.82 metres tall, a real giant, and it measures 1.03 metres of width and 48 centimetres of thickness.
The ogham signs are on the east (90°) corner and read "MAQI DECCEDDAS AVI TURANIAS" which can be translated as "Mac Deich Uí Turainn" or "son of Deich the descendant of Turainn".
The stone stands in a private field behind a house next to the sea.

We came here for the first time on May 16th, 2002, and on that occasion the family dog came with us and was of great company during the visit.
Last time we were asked to pay for the access, 2 euro each.
This time we were allowed for free.
