This slab is nearby the altar tomb.

In the same graveyard as the Grangefertagh round tower there's an amazing altar tomb with a double effigy of John MacGillpatrick and his wife carved on the lid. This tomb, that I consider a little masterpiece, dates to the early 16th century and was carved by Rory O'Tunney, the same tomb sculptor that carved the amazing figures in the Kilcooly Abbey.

The first time we came here was on May 17th, 2000. The second time was on September 27th, 2003.
