The tower house seen from the R680.


These ruins of a tower house can be found at Coolnamuck. According to some records it was built by Giraldus Wall in the 16th century.
The original name of the Wall family was Du Val, they came to Ireland in 1169 during the Norman invasion.
The tomb of Giraldus Wall is visible at the Franciscan monastery in Carrick-on-Suir.
