The tower house and the bawn walls as they first appeared to us.

The Killiane castle is a three-storey tower house in a private property. Attached to the tower there's an old Georgian house that is a farmhouse. The whole estate is named Killiane Castle Farmhouse and is listed on the AA guide.
According to some sources the castle dates back from the 15th century.
A man we met in the court told us that it's possible to get to the roof of the tower house. There's a doorway at the ground level inside the court of the farmhouse. The first room is used as a storeroom for every kind of knick-knack and scraps. With a 21-step staircase we reached the first floor, empty but absolutely dusty. Other 32 steps along a very dark staircase and we reached the roof. From up here we saw the whole estate and our car down below.
