Looking at St. Nicholas's church from the north.

To the east of the Adare Manor club house and to the north of the Desmond castle there is an old graveyard with a ruinous church dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra.
The church was built in the 13th century and then rebuilt in the 16th century when it became the Church of Ireland parish church.
It was abandoned when the the Augustian Friary (built in 1316) which stands 350 metres southwest was refurbished in 1806.
It's divided into three sections. The east one where the altar was and the floor is raised. The central one is the longest section. The west one has some burial and some memorials.

In the same graveyard, about 30 metres north of St. Nicholas's church, is another small church, called the Chapel of Ease dating to the 15th century.
In this chapel several members of the Quin family (Earls of Dunraven) are buried.

Both churches are aligned to the east (95°).

In the graveyard there are many interesting grave stones from the early 19th century. This graveyard stopped accepting burials in 1978.
