The path towards the well.

In Kells there's a hidden treasure, a holy well nested in a nice green area at the end of a 220 metres long path lined with trees on both sides. The external modern world is totally cut out in this spot.
According to the legend this well was formed at a St. Colmcille's command. It seems that this water has healing power.
The area around the well is stone paved and the well itself has a small stone house with a small canal that carries the water away towards southeast (145°).
The water in the well is so clear that it seems there's no water at all, and it's really cold.
At this well a mass is held every year on June 8th to commemorate the death of the saint in 579.
