The standing stone is now an element in the boundary wall of a farmhouse.

Sometimes some proud monuments come to a bad end. Like the standing stone at Carncome, which has ended up as an element in the boundary wall of a house along the Carncome Road east of Kells, co. Antrim.

Two stone and mortar pillars embrace the standing stone, and their profile has been adapted to the shape of the stone.
The standing stone faces the road towards north-northeast (20°). It's 1.93 metres tall and 1.08 metres wide at the base. The face towards the house has some hollows on its surface.
