This small protestant church sits on a low mound to the east of the church at Old Mellifont abbey, surrounded by a low stone wall and accessed via a 5-step stair.
It was built around 1650-1660 for the Moore family who at that time owned the abbey buildings, though they turned them into a fortified residence.
The building is about 14 metres long and 5 metres wide, aligned to east (92°).
The west gable is topped by a double bell-cot, and above the doorway there's a two-light window. Two other windows are in the south wall.
A nice cross slab is inside the church, set on a low plinth against the south wall.
A south doorway has been walled up.
