The forecourt seen from the northeast.

We followed the tip of a man we met at the Cregganconroe court tomb and well we did!
This court tomb is even more magnificent than the previous one and it's well signposted. From the spot where we left the car we walked for 680 metres in a pasture that was so muddy that it looked like quicksands! Along the path in the pasture we met three gates, one of them was padlocked and we had to climb over it.
The court tomb is rightly fenced but maybe the fence is too close to the monument and taking photos can be quite hard unless you have a very wide angle lens. I think that 2 more metres in each direction would be great.
The cairn is almost complete. It faces east-southeast.
The whole monument is 18 metres long and the court is 13 metres wide. At the rear it's about 6 metres wide. The tallest point of the tomb is the lintel over the entrance at 2 metres. The entrance leads to the gallery that is divided in three burial chambers, separated by pairs of jambs.
From this tomb there's a nice view over Lough Mallon.
