The well water is enclosed into a low wall which is shaped like a horseshoe with the opening towards the east.

We didn't know of this well. We were re-visiting Minard castle and we were leaving when three American tourists stopped us and told us that they had just found a magical spot with a small horseshoe-shaped basin and asked us if we knew what it could be. They were amazed, someone told them it was called the "Fairy Circle", and wanted us to go there with them. So we followed them and found this holy well at the end of a stepped path beneath the tress.
It's just a small horseshoe-shaped dry stone enclosure, just like the Americans said, with an opening in the southeast side. The water is pretty still and dirty.
A small cross slab stands atop the wall and faces the visitors.
The usual rag-tree is nearby.
The visit to this well was a little nightmare and we had to do it quick because thousands of midges were eating us alive. The bites of those small insects remained on our skin for a week.
