The square pillar is behind a boundary wall.

We were looking for a tomb in the area of Lavally, but we didn't find it. We did find by chance this memorial, or leachta cuimhne, on the side of the country road at Lavally.
It's a square pillar built with stones and mortar. The pillar is next to a stone gate post at the entrance of an unpaved road. The top of the pillar has a square stone tile which projects a little on all sides, above this stone tile other small blocks of stones are placed to form a tapering cover.
The southwest (245°) side of the pillar has a shallow recess which houses an inscribed plaque. I tried to read it but I couldn't make all the words out.

UPDATE: June 9th, 2014 - This time this memorial had much less vegetation around it, so it was easier for taking the photos and for reading the inscription, though not all words were clear enough. It reads:
"PRAY FOR THE SOUL OF JOHN LYNCH FITZGEFFREY FITZDOMNICK OF GALLWAY LATE OF LAVALLY AND MARY LYNCH FITZWILLIAM FITZANDREW HIS WIFE HIS SON THOMAS LYNCH FITZJOHN OF GALLWAY LATE OF LAVALLY HIS WIFE ......... FITZTHOMAS OF........ANDREW AND THEIR POSTERITY 1712"

The pillar has a plan of 1.20 metres on each side and a height of 3.80 metres.
The roof or cap is almost totally missing apart for a few surviving stone onto the ledge.
The plaque measures 1.08 metres of height and 71 centimetres of width, facing southwest (245°).
