The north wall seen from the inside. It has a slit window. I couldn't see any staircase to the upper floors.

This tower house was built in Norman times and was in the Grants's hands until the Cromwell's invasion.
It's five storey high, it is said it had a thathced roof and a lore has it that the mortar used for the building was mixed with blood.
It seems that secret underground tunnel goes from here to Grannagh Castle which is 3.5 km northeast. Corluddy castle could have been an escape fortress in the event of an attack to Grannagh.
Apparently this castle also has a staircase to the upper floors, but I haven't seen it.
Peter Grant, the chief of the family, lived in the castle until his death in 1510 and he's buried in the St. Canice's Cathedral in Kilkenny.

The castle sits on a hill overlooking the River Suir to the south, and it's almost completely covered with vegetation.
There's an entrance on the west-southwest (255°) side, and the wall on this side is 2 metres thick. The ground floor has a barrel-vaulted ceiling. A wide breach is on the opposite wall.
