The water is rusty and some coins are on the bottom of the hollow.


Usually holy wells are on a low land or at the foot of a hill.
We never saw a well on the top of a rocky outcrop before.
It is unlikely that the water in the well springs from the rock, given that this outcrop is the highest point around.
Nevertheless it seems that this well never runs dry, even in the hottest and driest times of the year. Several people have left coins as an offering.
