The north stone is well above the ground. It's about 1.58 metres long and 1.05 metres wide. The hollow has a diameter of about 45 centimetres.

Two bullaun stones are on the ground between the Round Tower and St. Mary's Church.
The most visible is the one closer to the round tower, it measures 1.58 metres in length and 1.05 metres of width. A deep and perfectly round hollow has been carved in it, its diameter is 45 centimetres.
The other stone is almost flush with the ground, almost covered with grass. Its approximate measures are 1.67 metres in length and 85 centimetres in width. The hollow measures roughly 40 centimetres in diameter.
These stones can be dated to pagan times, but they were incorporated into the monastic settlement where they were used as bowls for mixing food and herbs.
In the popular tradition the water collected in their hollows could have healing properties. The water in the bullaun stones of Inis Cealtra was known to cure warts, ringworms and sore eyes.
