The cross seen from down the mound.

We've lost count of how many times we stopped at this cross or we drove by it in these past years, I think that the last time was on September 15th, 2003. This time was time to put it into the list of my monuments.
It's on a low mound on the side of the N15. Some years ago we found a "Private property" sign at the foot of the mound. This time the access was free of bans.
The cross is simple, plain, slender and with very short arms. It dates from the 9th or 10th century, it was moved to this current position to protect it from coastal erosion and was believed to be part of a monastery now vanished.
It's 2.75 metres tall, 63 centimetres wide at the shaft and at the arms, and 38 centimetres thick. It leans to the northwest by 11° and stands on a base that is 1.33 metres tall, for a total height in excess of 4 metres .

This was our last visit for the year 2010.
